Rave Cloaks & Hooded Festival Cloaks
The rave cloak playbook
from build-up hood-up to drop hood-back
What kind of rave cloak should you actually wear?
Cloak silhouettes fall into a handful of repeating shapes — and the smart move is owning at least one of each:
- Hooded full-length rave cloak — the classic. Featherweight fabric, deep weighted hood, sleeves cut for movement. The version everyone photographs.
- Short cape-cut cloak — shoulder-length, lighter to carry through the crowd. Layers clean over a crop top or cropped jersey.
- Fur-trim & faux-fur hooded cloak — desert nights, late sets, festivals where the temp drops hard after dark.
- Sequin & full-print cloak — main-stage photo energy. Holographic, reflective, glow-friendly under stage lights.
- Standalone rave hood — when a full cloak is too much. Sequin, sheer, fur-trim, or scarf-style. Worn over a tank or jersey for the silhouette without the heat.
Some buyers also search for these as a "rave cape" or "rave robe" — same garment, different word.
How do I pick a cloak for EDC, Lost Lands, Tomorrowland or Electric Forest?
Build the cloak around the festival, not the other way around:
- EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, Ultra Miami — desert and seaside heat by day, cold after midnight. Default to a hooded festival cloak you can throw on between sets. Reflective and UV-reactive prints pop hardest under stage lights.
- Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Forbidden Kingdom — bass-music crowds, colder nights, dustier days. Dark colors, sequin or full-print, a hood that pulls deep when the dust kicks.
- Tomorrowland, Coachella, Lollapalooza — main-stage photo festivals. Sequin, holographic or fur-trim. The cloak is the look.
- Electric Forest, Bonnaroo — woodsy, layered, transformational. Earthy tones, full-length, deep hood. Pair with a custom jersey underneath.

Hooded cloaks, men's cuts, women's cuts — which silhouette is right?
Three shapes that actually matter on the rail:
- Men's rave cloaks — cut wider through the shoulders, longer in the hem. Built to layer over a tank, jersey or 2-piece set without bunching. Generous hood that fits over headphones and shutter shades.
- Women's rave cloaks — shorter through the body, narrower at the shoulders, hooded for the same drop-the-hood-at-the-drop moment. Pairs clean with crop tops, bodysuits or bralettes.
- Unisex hooded cloak — the in-between cut. The most reordered piece in the collection — works for any body, any festival, any photo.
Every cut is built for movement first, photos second. If you're undecided: the hooded full-length unisex cut is the safest first cloak.
Can I get a custom rave cloak for my squad or crew?
Yes — group orders are Rave Bonfire's bread and butter. We've shipped matching cloaks to Boston Ravers, Tidepods, Banana Canyon and Rwamp Squad, plus dozens of festival crews who wanted a unified look at the rail for EDC weekends and headliner sets.
- Reach out via the Rave bonfire form or email contact@ravebonfire.com.
- Designer consultation — one of our in-house designers gets on a call to scope colors, names, crew logo, theme.
- Draft review — we send back a digital proof. Unlimited revisions until it's right.
- Production — your cloaks go into manufacturing with our partner factories.
- Delivery — shipped in time for your festival weekend. Most crews order 6–8 weeks ahead.
Works on cloaks, cropped baseball jerseys, hoodies, bodysuits and crop tops alike. Bulk custom orders start at 4+ pieces with automatic crew discounts.
What fabrics and fits hold up best at summer festivals?
Festival cloaks have to do real work — sweat, dust, crowd-crush, a quick rinse in a hotel sink, back out the next night. Our collection is built around three rules:
- Featherweight fabric — breathable enough for a hot afternoon at EDC Las Vegas, layered enough for a 4am after-set.
- Deep, weighted hood — stays up under headphones, doesn't blow back at the drop, pulls all the way over for the silhouette photo.
- Sublimated prints + washable construction — the design is dyed into the fabric (not screen-printed on top), and the cloak packs flat into a fanny pack or backpack between festivals.
Plus-size cloaks are built into every drop — same cuts, same prints, sized so every raver gets the festival fit that actually works for their body.
Why do ravers choose Rave Bonfire for festival cloaks?
Three things put us a level above generic rave merch:
- Designed for the floor, not the photo — every cloak is field-tested by the crew at actual festivals before it ships.
- Custom built in — any cloak in this collection can be reskinned, color-shifted or fully redesigned through our Rave Squad custom-design service.
- Real community — 10,000+ ravers and dozens of festival crews already wear Rave Bonfire from EDC to Lost Lands — and across every festival on our 2026 lineup.
