Who is Carnage?

Guatemalan-American DJ and producer — from festival-trap pioneer to house visionary as GORDO.

Carnage is the Guatemalan-American DJ and producer Diamanté Anthony Blackmon. Debuting under the name in 2012, he fused the weight of Southern trap with the bombast of European festival EDM, helping create what fans dubbed festival trap — one of the defining sounds of the early-2010s dance boom.

Signed to Ultra Records, he built a catalogue of floor-wreckers — “Bricks” with Migos, “WDYW,” the gold-certified “I Like Tuh” — and his debut album Papi Gordo hit #1 on the Billboard Top Dance Albums chart in 2015. He also founded the Rare festival series.

In 2021 he re-emerged with the house alias GORDO, formally retiring the Carnage name in 2022; as GORDO he produced on Drake’s #1 album Honestly, Nevermind and built the TARAKA event series. Explore more electronic music artists in the full DJ directory, or visit his official site.

I wasn’t happy with where dance music was headed — GORDO is me now, this is my whole world.
