Flux Pavilion
The British dubstep architect who made Jay-Z and Kanye stop — co-founder of Circus Records and creator of bass music’s defining anthems.
Who is Flux Pavilion?
Joshua Steele — Flux Pavilion — helped build modern dubstep from the ground up.
Flux Pavilion is the British producer Joshua Steele, born in Towcester in 1989 and one of the architects of the worldwide dubstep explosion. Self-taught across multiple instruments, he began releasing at nineteen with bass-weight drops and surgically precise sound design.
In 2009 he co-founded Circus Records with his friend Doctor P, giving the UK bass underground its most important independent home. His reach went global when his 2010 track “I Can’t Stop” was sampled by Jay-Z and Kanye West on “Who Gon Stop Me” from Watch the Throne, while later collaborations included “Do or Die” with Childish Gambino.
He released his debut album Tesla in 2015 and second album .wav in 2021, performing at Glastonbury, Coachella and EDC. Explore more electronic music artists in the full DJ directory, or visit his official site.
