What is Big Fam Music & Arts Festival 2026?

Big Fam Music & Arts Festival is a multi-genre camping festival in Michigan, produced by Big Fam Productions LLC. Its 2026 edition was held at The Groves of Michigan in Brooklyn, Michigan, from Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27, 2026: gates opened at 10 AM on Friday, and campers had until 1 PM on Monday, September 28 to leave. The festival calls itself Michigan's home for music and art, and its music page describes a bill that runs from groovy, acoustic and funk acts to experimental and electronic artists, played through BASSBOSS sound, the festival's exclusive speaker partner.

The 2026 lineup was published as poster artwork on the official lineup page. In text, the festival's YouTube channel announced Caspa's return to the stage for 2026; the poster shows the full bill. The festival's 2026 partner page names Apogee, the main stage, and the Bayou, a forest stage and immersive art walk; the festival's Bayou page credits the Michigan artists behind KatFish EyeKandy as its curators. The partner page also lists a late-night Silent Disco, an Art Gallery with daytime workshops and a Sunday-morning Disco Brunch, a Boredom Fighters recording dome where attendees could help record a collaborative album, the Sanctuary by the fire and Grove Street, the vendor row.

In 2026, guests under 18 had to be with a parent or legal guardian, and kids 12 and under had discounted admission. There were no bars on site; it was a BYOB event for guests 21 and over, with no glass. The festival's partner page lists attendance growing from 893 in its first year to 2,419 in its fourth, and says its attendees return year after year, with many contributing as volunteers, performers, artists or workshop hosts.

Travel & Planning Guide

The Groves of Michigan is at 13500 U.S. 12 in Brooklyn, Michigan, and the festival's arrival rules are built around coming by vehicle. In 2026 every vehicle entering the property needed a pass (one per vehicle, not per person), and everyone in the vehicle still needed a festival ticket. The festival's rule was that any car parked on a nearby road, or on any road inside the property, would be ticketed and towed, so plan to park only where the festival directs you.

Not camping? In 2026 a day parking lot served locals and guests staying at surrounding lodging, but those cars still needed a car pass. Standard cars, SUVs, trucks and vans could camp in the General Campground; vehicles over 22 feet and towed trailers needed an RV option. The Groves Campground had 30-amp and 50-amp hookups with water, plus bathrooms and a paid shower house. Guests who needed ADA parking or camping were asked to email the festival to confirm.

First-timer tip for next time: in 2026 campsites could not be reserved, so groups that wanted to camp together had to arrive together, and vehicles could be searched each time they entered. Re-entry was allowed with your wristband and security screening. Check the official festival info page for 2027 arrival details once they are announced.

What to Know Before You Go

🌧️
Pack for Rain or Shine

Big Fam happens rain or shine, and the festival tells guests to pack accordingly. Late-September nights in Michigan can turn cool, so bring warm layers for after dark.

💧
Bring a Reusable Bottle

The festival had multiple water refill stations and recommended a reusable water bottle or hydration pack. Bottled water was also for sale.

🍻
Know the BYOB Rules

There were no bars on site in 2026. Guests 21+ could bring their own drinks, but no glass of any kind and no kegs.

🚫
Check the Prohibited List

In 2026 there were no pets or emotional support animals (service animals allowed), no grills or charcoal (small propane camp stoves were fine), no external fuel generators, no subwoofers or large powered speakers, and no bikes, skateboards or scooters. The full list is in the Camping FAQ.

👪
Families: Pick Quiet Camping

Quiet Camping was set aside for families and anyone who wanted a calmer place to sleep, with quiet hours from 11 PM to 8 AM. Nobody under 18 was allowed in the Bayou after 10 PM.

♻️
Leave No Trace

The festival asks every camp to keep two bags, one for trash and one for recycling, to skip cases of plastic water bottles and to clean up the campsite before leaving.
