What is Lost Lands 2026?

Lost Lands is Excision's bass music festival at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio. The 2026 edition ran from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, and the organizers called it the festival's 9th year; the official lineup archive goes back to 2017. The theme is prehistoric: the festival pitches its bill as bass DJs and producers from the past 65 million years, and dinosaurs stood around the grounds (the festival asked attendees not to touch or sit on them).

Stages named on the official site for 2026 included the Prehistoric Stage, The Crater, Wompy Woods and The Grove Stage. Early Entry passes for Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday opened the week early, and every Early Entry pass included the multi-artist B2B pre-party on Thursday night at the Prehistoric and Crater stages. The 2026 lineup was published as poster images on the official lineup page. We only list names a festival confirms in text, so the posters are the place to see who played.

Away from the stages, the Village Marketplace in the heart of the campgrounds had a Silent Disco, a 360 Dome and a Discovery Center with classes, and Chomp, the festival's in-venue steakhouse, returned with reservations. Lost Lands is an 18+ event, and camping was sold separately from GA and VIP admission.

Artists & Performers

We only list artists that the festival confirmed in writing, and it did not publish this edition's lineup that way, so no names are listed here. See the official Lost Lands 2026 site for the festival's own lineup artwork.

Travel & Planning Guide

Legend Valley is in Thornville, Ohio. In 2026 the festival ran Dino Express shuttles between downtown Columbus (pickup at 100 E Rich St.) and Legend Valley, with an estimated 40–60 minutes each way, plus long-haul shuttles run with Bus.com from Columbus Airport, Chicago, Cleveland/Akron and Detroit. Without a car, attendees could also be dropped off at the rideshare lot by Uber, Lyft or taxi and carry their gear to the campsite on foot; the festival recommended a small wagon.

Camping was not the only option. The festival sold Headbanger Hotel packages with On Location, which bundled admission, a hotel in Downtown Columbus or the surrounding area and daily rides to Lost Lands, and it offered a Hotel Finder for booking rooms on your own. Campers needed both festival admission and a camping pass, and camping vehicles had no in-and-out privileges.

First-timer tip for next time: in 2026 the campgrounds opened at 7 pm on Tuesday, September 15 for Tuesday Early Entry, Wednesday and Thursday Early Entry could arrive from midnight the night before their day, and all other attendees could arrive from midnight on Thursday night. The festival warned that local rush-hour traffic and the nearby Backwoods Festival in Thornville made some wait on Friday unavoidable, and advised arriving as early as possible. Check the official site for 2027 arrival details once they are announced.

What to Know Before You Go

🌦️
Pack for Every Kind of Weather

The festival's own advice: temperatures often change through the day, so bring hats, sunscreen, extra shoes, rain jackets or ponchos and extra layers.

🎒
Know the Bag and Item Rules

In 2026 bags in the festival grounds were capped at 12 x 12 inches. Empty reusable water bottles and empty Camelbaks were fine, but outside food, frozen water bottles, glass, folding chairs and replica weapons were not. Check the official list again before 2027.

🦖
Don't Touch the Dinos

In 2026 the festival asked attendees not to touch or sit on the dinosaurs; climbing, damaging or physically interacting with them could get you escorted out.

💳
Bring a Card

In 2026 the festival's cashless page said on-site points of sale took debit or credit only and there were no ATMs on site. Cash could be turned into a prepaid Visa card at the Cash-To-Card Exchange.

🚗
Stock Up Before You Drive In

In 2026 camping vehicles had no re-entry and spots could not be reserved for friends, so cars that wanted to camp together had to arrive together. For anything you forget, the General Store in the Village Marketplace was open 24 hours in 2026.

🔊
Protect Your Hearing

The festival bills it as three days of bass music. Pack a pair of earplugs and take breaks away from the speakers.
