Breakfast of Champions, billed in full as It's A New DAY + Breakfast Of Champions 2027 Block Party, is San Francisco's New Year's Day street party. It runs Friday, January 1, 2027 from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM at The Great Northern, 119 Utah St, San Francisco, CA 94103, with the block party entrance at Alameda St and Vermont St, per the official Eventbrite page. It is presented by The Great Northern nightclub and the Space Cowboys, the San Francisco DJ and art collective that has been throwing parties since 1997. The event is 21+, and the Eventbrite page lists a no-refunds policy.
The 2027 artist lineup had not been announced as of October 3, 2026. The Space Cowboys site and the Eventbrite page name the participating crews instead: Space Cowboys, The Great Northern, Monarch, Green Gorilla Lounge, Hacienda, Heavy Petting Zoo, Mioli Music, Micah's Funland, Polyglamorous, Squish, Sunset Sound System and Texture Summit, "and more". For the previous edition, on January 1, 2026, the DoTheBay listing named Boris, Claude VonStroke, Coco & Breezy, David Harness, DJ Dan, Krafty Kuts, Doc Martin, Eddie C, Gettoblaster, Jubilee, Kevin Knapp, Miguel Migs, Mira (DE), Pangaea, Robin S and Tara Brooks at the top of the bill. The 2025 edition listing described 10 stages.
The party takes over the streets around The Great Northern, a club on Utah Street at the edge of the Mission and Potrero Hill. The Space Cowboys' own history page says Breakfast of Champions started as a party beginning at 6 AM on New Year's Day and has grown into a sunup-to-sundown block party on January 1, and the 2025 listing described a quarter century of the tradition. The 2025 edition listed art cars, aerial performances, interactive playgrounds, art, food trucks and other vendors alongside the stages. What makes it different from a New Year's Eve festival is the clock: doors are at 4:00 AM on New Year's morning, so it works as the after-party to your countdown and runs until 9:00 PM.
