Dancefestopia is a 100% independently operated music and camping festival. It started in 2011 and has grown into a seven-day event just outside Kansas City. Since 2018 its home has been the Wildwood Outdoor Education Center in La Cygne, Kansas, which is a non-profit children's camp the rest of the year; the festival donates a percentage of its proceeds to the camp, and it calls the grounds the Emerald City. The 2026 edition ran from Monday, September 7 to Sunday, September 13, and the festival called it its 14th edition. The campgrounds opened on Monday, the main venue ran from Thursday to Sunday starting with the Thursday Pre-Party, and campers had until 1 PM on Monday, September 14 to pack up and leave.
The festival's final 2026 lineup post counted 225 artists over seven days across five stages. The Emerald Stage, open Thursday to Sunday with PK Sound and fireworks, featured GRiZ, Excision, Zeds Dead, Sullivan King, Ray Volpe, Crankdat, LSDREAM and Wreckno among others, and on Friday LSDREAM led LIGHTCODE, a meditative sound bath at the Emerald Stage, to open the weekend. The Lollipop Stage ran from sunset to sunrise on VOID sound beside the lake, with national acts such as Riot Ten b2b Bear Grillz, Kompany, Grabbitz, Calcium and Infekt plus regional artists and Yellow Brick Road Tour winners. The Forest Stage in the campgrounds ran Monday to Sunday on Funktion One sound, the Pool Stage played house music on Friday to Sunday afternoons, and the Rekinection Stage hosted workshops, yoga and fire and aerial shows. Because the venue is a summer camp, the extras were part of the draw: attendees could take on a ropes course that ends in a zipline, canoe on the pond, fish in the lake next to the Lollipop Stage or cool off at the pool, and the Frick Frack tent ran late-night blackjack played for trinkets instead of cash. The 2026 theme days were Clownin' Around on Thursday, Ain't No Rodeo on Friday, Follow the Yellow Brick Road on Saturday and Pajama Party on Sunday. Dancefestopia is an all-ages event, but every attendee needed a ticket, and alcohol was 21+ with photo ID.
