What is Forbidden Kingdom Festival 2027?

Forbidden Kingdom 2027 is a bass music festival from Insomniac and its bass brand Bassrush. It runs Friday, April 23, Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, 2027 at the Orlando Amphitheater at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, 4603 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808. The 2027 edition expands to three days; the 2026 edition was two days, April 25 and 26. The official hours and info page says the event is 18+ with valid photo ID and lists event hours and box office hours as "coming soon" as of October 3, 2026. Insomniac's own press release calls it the East Coast's largest dedicated bass festival.

The 2027 lineup has not been announced. The official lineup page reads "2027 lineup coming soon", and the official homepage promises 100+ artists across 5 stages over 3 days. The official stages page names the five stages: The Forbidden Realm, The Dragon's Lair, The Mystic Garden, The Crystal Spire and The Cursed Ruins. For context, the previous year's edition, Forbidden Kingdom 2026, ran four stages with Subtronics, Zeds Dead, Virtual Riot, ATLiens, SVDDEN DEATH, Whethan, Mary Droppinz, a T-Pain DJ set and B2Bs including Liquid Stranger B2B Mersiv and Getter B2B Space Laces, per the Insomniac press release.

The Central Florida Fairgrounds sit on West Colonial Drive (State Road 50) on the west side of Orlando, and the official accessibility page describes the grounds as mainly grass with some asphalt. At the 2026 show, Insomniac handed out flyers announcing a move to Tinker Field and six stages for 2027; after fan feedback, Pasquale Rotella reversed that and kept the festival at the Fairgrounds, as reported by EDM Identity and Exron Music. The festival is cashless except for parking, has free water refill stations, vegan and vegetarian food, bars for 21+, lockers with phone chargers, and a medieval fantasy theme of dragons and castles that sets it apart from Insomniac's other Florida events.

Travel & Planning Guide

The festival is at the Orlando Amphitheater at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, 4603 W Colonial Dr, on the west side of Orlando. The official FAQ puts Orlando International Airport (MCO) about 27 minutes away and Orlando Executive Airport about 17 minutes away. The official travel page says the rideshare pick-up and drop-off point is outside the venue entrance off BMX Way. 2027 parking was listed as "coming soon" on October 3, 2026; for 2026 the travel page sold limited $40 general parking in advance and warned that all parking at the Fairgrounds sells out, so carpooling is strongly recommended.

There is no camping; the official festival policies list "no camping". Insomniac has an official hotel block linked from the travel page with rates at area hotels. Downtown Orlando, the International Drive area and hotels along I-4 are all a short drive or rideshare from West Colonial Drive. If you are making a trip of it, the official theme parks page lists festival discounts at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida.

Tickets are sold through Front Gate Tickets from the official passes page, and the ticketing FAQ says tickets are non-transferable and there are no refunds or exchanges. Bring a physical photo ID, because the hours and info page rejects digital IDs and photocopies. Expect a TSA-style search with a pat-down. There are no ins and outs, and you can enter until one hour before the end of the event. The festival is cashless except for parking, so bring a card or phone wallet. Lockers with phone chargers can be rented on the passes page.

What to Know Before You Go

🅿️
Buy parking the moment it drops

The official travel page warns in capital letters that all parking at the Fairgrounds will sell out and that show-day parking is not guaranteed. For 2026 it sold limited $40 general parking in advance. 2027 parking was still listed as coming soon on October 3, 2026, so watch the travel page and buy as soon as it opens. If you skip the car, the rideshare zone is outside the entrance off BMX Way.

👜
Know the bag sizes before you pack

Clear bags can be up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches, clutches up to 6 x 9 inches, and hydration packs can have two main compartments and one small one, empty at entry. The official prohibited list includes markers, gas masks, aerosol cans, red light-up wands, outside food including candy, and over-the-counter medication. There is no re-entry, so pack once and carry it all day, or rent a festival locker.

🪪
Bring a real ID, not a phone photo

The official hours and info page refuses digital IDs, school IDs, consular IDs, birth certificates, expired IDs and photocopies. A US government-issued license or ID, or a passport, works. If you are 21+ and want a drink or VIP access, a foreign license plus passport copy is not enough; you need a physical passport or US ID. Keep it somewhere safe that you will not lose while dancing.

🌧️
Plan for heat and a rain shower

Late April in Orlando averages highs around 84°F and lows around 64°F, with roughly a one-in-four chance of a wet day. The festival runs rain or shine and the grounds are mainly grass, so closed shoes beat sandals if it gets muddy. Sealed sunscreen and a personal misting fan, with a bottle up to 1.5 liters and empty at entry, are on the allowed list.

🎟️
Use the $20 deposit and watch tiers

The official passes page lists 3-Day GA at $229, GA+ at $269 and VIP at $399, all-in with fees, and every tier can be bought on a $20 deposit layaway plan. Launch passes started at $149 in May 2026 and prices rise as tiers sell. Tickets are non-transferable with no refunds, and the FAQ says GA upgrades are only possible on site, so pick your tier before you buy.

💧
Refill instead of buying water

The amenities page lists free water refill stations and fountains throughout the venue. Bring an empty hydration pack or an empty reusable bottle and fill it up inside, since outside beverages are not allowed. Three days of dubstep and riddim in Florida spring heat is a lot of sweating, so refill every time you pass a station and eat at the food stands, which include vegan and vegetarian options.
