What is Making Time Festival 2026?

Making Time ∞ is a Philadelphia electronic music festival held at Fort Mifflin, an 18th-century Revolutionary War fort on the banks of the Delaware River, right next to Philadelphia International Airport. The 2026 edition ran from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20. Its site brands its parties and sets as "TRANSCENDENTAL futuristic sound experiences", gives a whole page to PLURT (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, Transcendence), and describes everything from the shuttle buses to the hotels and bike racks as parts of "Dave P.'s Transcendental Plan".

The official 2026 lineup page listed 135 named acts, from DJ sets and B2Bs to live shows, plus a Special Guest DJ, in alphabetical order, with no billing tiers. Names ran from Bicep, Daphni, Theo Parrish, Skee Mask, Marcel Dettmann, Tiga and John Talabot to live sets by Kim Gordon, Dopplereffekt, Daniel Avery, Carla dal Forno and They Are Gutting a Body of Water, plus pairings such as Octo Octa B2B Eris Drew, Aurora Halal B2B Verraco and Lena Willikens B2B upsammy. Klip Collective, The Lot RADio and Great Circles were listed as festival partners. Day-by-day lineups and schedules for Friday, Saturday and Sunday were posted as images on the official schedule and single-day lineup pages.

Making Time at Fort Mifflin was not new in 2026: the festival's Futuristic Sounds page archives sets recorded in The Lot RADio Zone at the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions, alongside a Making Time channel on Apple Music. Ahead of the 2026 festival, Making Time also announced a free "You're Welcome, America" party with Dave P. at Bok Bar, 800 Mifflin St., on Friday, July 3, from 6 pm to 11 pm (RSVP, entry subject to capacity).

Travel & Planning Guide

Fort Mifflin sits directly next to Philadelphia International Airport, and the festival describes it as a 10–15 minute drive from just about anywhere in or near Center City Philadelphia. There was no parking at the fort in 2026: drivers parked at the official offsite lot at ARB Parking, 4700 Island Ave., and rode a free shuttle to the gate, and the festival warned that cars parked on Fort Mifflin Rd. would be ticketed and towed. You could also ride a bike; the festival had bike racks.

Without a car, you could ride the festival's own Transcendental Shuttle Bus, a round-trip loop from La Chinesca at 1036 Spring Garden St., directly next to Union Transfer. In 2026 the first bus left at 12:30 pm each day, and the loop ran until 3 am on Friday and Saturday and 1 am on Sunday, with weekend and single-day passes. Uber and Lyft were not allowed to pick up at the gates of Fort Mifflin at night; riders took a free shuttle to the rideshare pickup at ARB Parking instead.

The official site listed no camping. The closest hotels it named were Aloft Philadelphia Airport and Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Airport, both less than a mile from the fort and a short walk from ARB Parking, and it held room blocks at W Philadelphia and Element Downtown Philadelphia in Center City. It also offered discounted rooms at Yowie Hotel on South Street and listed Club Quarters, Anna & Bel, Kimpton Hotel Palomar and Kimpton Hotel Monaco as other options. Check the official hotels page before the next edition.

What to Know Before You Go

🚌
Take the Festival Shuttle

The festival called its round-trip shuttle from La Chinesca the most direct way to and from Fort Mifflin, and in 2026 passes were cheaper when bought in advance. It also ran late: until 3 am on Friday and Saturday.

🚫
Don't Park on Fort Mifflin Rd.

You could not park at the fort, and the festival warned that cars left on Fort Mifflin Rd. would be ticketed and towed. Use the official lot at ARB Parking, 4700 Island Ave., and ride the free shuttle.

🏨
Sleep Near the Airport

Aloft Philadelphia Airport and Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Airport were the closest hotels the festival named, both under a mile from the fort and a short walk from the free shuttles at ARB Parking.

📜
Read the Official FAQ

Making Time posts its FAQ as 19 image slides on the official FAQ page. Read it there before you plan the next edition.

🎧
Listen Back Before You Go

The festival's Futuristic Sounds page links to its Apple Music channel and to The Lot RADio Zone sets from 2022 to 2025, a good way to get a feel for the music.

🔊
Protect Your Hearing

Three days of DJ sets and live shows add up. Pack a pair of earplugs and take breaks away from the speakers.
