Black Coffee — born Nkosinathi Maphumulo in Umlazi, South Africa — is the most globally celebrated artist in Afro house. His sound is soulful, deep and emotive, bridging South African house with the world's biggest dancefloors. He DJs with limited use of his left arm after a childhood accident, and turned it into part of his singular style.
He founded the Soulistic Music label in 2005 and went on to collaborate with artists from David Guetta (“Drive”) to Usher (“LaLaLa”). In 2022 he won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Subconsciously.
