Diplo — born Thomas Wesley Pentz — is one of the most influential American DJs and producers of the modern era. Through his label Mad Decent and projects including Major Lazer, Jack Ü (with Skrillex) and Silk City (with Mark Ronson), Diplo has bridged dancehall, EDM, hip-hop and pop into a sound that defined the 2010s.
Diplo first broke through producing for M.I.A. before launching Major Lazer in 2008, whose 2015 single "Lean On" became one of the most-streamed songs of all time. As one half of Jack Ü, Diplo won a Grammy for "Where Are Ü Now" with Justin Bieber, and he has since produced for Beyoncé, Madonna and countless others.
