Excision — born Jeff Abel — is the Canadian DJ and producer who pushed dubstep and bass music to its heaviest extremes. Since emerging in 2007, Excision has built a reputation for crushing, mechanical sound design and a live show famous for its enormous custom sound systems and apocalyptic visuals.
From his early Rottun Recordings releases to albums like X Rated, Apex and Onyx, Excision turned headbanging into a spectacle. His touring productions — including The Paradox and the Thunderdome stage design — set the standard for what a bass concert could be, and tracks like "Throwin’ Elbows" and "The Paradox" became dubstep staples.
