Who is Ferry Corsten?

One of the founding architects of modern trance, under his own name and a string of legendary aliases.

Ferry Corsten is the Dutch DJ and producer from Rotterdam widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of trance. Across a career spanning three decades he has shaped the genre under his own name and through celebrated aliases including System F, Gouryella and Moonman.

His System F anthem “Out of the Blue” and the Gouryella project — originally with Tiësto — became defining records of the late-90s trance explosion, while later work like “Punk” and the revived Gouryella single “Anahera” kept him at the forefront of the scene. Through his label Flashover Recordings he has championed uplifting trance for a new generation.

A multiple DJ Mag Top 100 mainstay who peaked at #5, Corsten continues to tour worldwide and host his Resonation Radio show. Explore more electronic music artists in the full DJ directory, or visit his official site.

Corsten writes trance the way it was meant to feel — patient, soaring, and built for the moment the lights go up.
