Who is Netsky?
From sampling Motown in Edegem to selling out Antwerp’s Sportpaleis, Netsky made drum & bass euphoric.
Netsky is the Belgian producer Boris Daenen, who grew up near Antwerp on his father’s soul and Motown records before settling on the name — borrowed from a computer worm — to release his earliest tracks. In 2009 he signed to the UK institution Hospital Records, and his self-titled 2010 debut won Best Newcomer Producer at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards.
His blend of soulful vocal hooks, jazz-inflected melody and driving drum & bass made him the defining voice of liquid funk. His second album 2 (2012) hit #1 in Belgium with anthems “Love Has Gone” and “Come Alive,” and the Netsky Live! band took the studio sound to arenas across the world.
