RL Grime is the Los Angeles producer Henry Steinway, who emerged in 2011 as a key figure defining trap as a festival genre. First releasing as Clockwork, he pivoted to RL Grime and joined the WeDidIt collective, with his 2014 anthem “Core” cementing his status as one of bass music’s essential architects.
His debut album Void (2014) hit #1 on the US Electronic chart, and Nova (2018) broadened his palette with guests from Miguel to Joji. In 2019 he launched Sable Valley to champion emerging talent, followed by the ambitious three-part album PLAY (2023). His annual Halloween mix became one of the most anticipated events on the electronic calendar.

Clockwork was Henry Steinway’s original DJ alias, used for electro and big-room productions before he transitioned fully to the RL Grime name and a trap-focused sound.
