TiĆ«sto ā born Tijs Michiel Verwest in Breda, Netherlands ā is one of the most influential electronic music artists of all time. Often called the Godfather of EDM, TiĆ«sto built a 30-year career that began as the king of global trance, won DJ Mag's #1 spot three years in a row, and reinvented him as a chart-topping house and pop DJ for the streaming era.
In 2004 TiĆ«sto became the first DJ ever to perform live at an Olympic ceremony, soundtracking the Athens opening to a global audience. He released the seminal album In My Memory, redefined arena-scale trance, and then ā when most legends fade ā pivoted into house and electro in the early 2010s with anthems like "Red Lights" and "Adagio for Strings."
